Ottoman Kiswa Fragments of the Kabah Belt

An original and authentic kiswa fragment of the Kabah belt.

Once formed as part of the upper and lower bands to the main kiswa belt (hizam).

Wrtten is yellow kufic text on a green silk background with a lower black border. An elegant and timeless design for the beauty of the Holy Kabah.

In the Ottoman era and early Saudi era there were times when gold gilt was not available thus the kabah was draped with black and yellow thread cloth.

Many references dating back to 15-16th century can be found in various museums and texts worldwide.
